I would give darna a chance simply because of a few actors: ANGEL, DENNIS, ALESSANDRA, ELLA
Why? Simply because i was surprised they didnt use the formula behind Mulawin’s success… They Should’ve casted Underrated, Unassuming, Underdog and Renewed and refreshing Actors given the second chance.
You don’t need veteran or superstar actors to have a successful show.. Look at how these actors became very effective in Mulawin:
Zoren Legaspi and Gary Estrada… Sheryl Cruz and Romnick Sarmienta…
Michael de Mesa was surprisingly “new”.. and of course, the ever beautiful Amy Austria (seen her in person last sunday) was as constantly refreshing as ever.
Even Terong, whoever he is, became a favorite!
That’s one of the major factor for Mulawin’s success.. hindi lang dahil sa love team or lead actors…
Didn’t they know that Christopher de Leon has a very bad TV Track Record? He never had any successful TV Shows… regardless of TV station.
Eddie Garcia .. may mas luluma pa ba sa kanya? a si Celia Rodriguez nga pala…
Syempre they are all talented and great.. but i am sure they have nothing new on their sleeves… Marinig ko pa lang ang boses ni Christopher de leon eh sawang sawa na ako… kahit anong pelikula or tv show nya.. it’s the same thing parang si Richard Gomez. ick.
Ngayon, a NEW and BETTER SCRIPT is the only way for DARNA to reach or surpass expectations….
Sana they would prove me wrong.

emsie, as a good tv viewer, i agree with you. we should give Darna a second chance. Who knows we might see something new in the overall plot. Definitely the visual effects are far far better than the previous versions we’ve seen before.
Plus, GMA again boldly gamble on casting new and younger stars rather than tested but no longer appealing oldtimers.
In fact, GMA never follow the same style as that of ABS specifically casting the same old faces- Judy Ann Santos and Claudine Barreto in lead roles. They risk. Nakakasawa na rin kung yun at yun ang mukgha which is why Krystala didn’t fared well and Marina eventually died in the wake of Mulawin.
For it’s visual aspect alone, I’m gonna watch Darna.

Okei na sana ang Darna except for one person. Many of us dont agree na si CJ and Ding. Ang cute ng batang gumanap ng Ding pero ng lumaki pumangit. Nakakaimbyerna tuloy! Mas maganda kung talagang bata na lang para makakasampa si Ding sa likod ni Darna. Eh ngayun malabong mangyari kasi nga mas malaki pa si Ding kay Narda. Sana si Kurt perez or Bj(tolitz) na lang ang ginawang Ding mas bongga pa.

noong yong lumbas na si angel
52.1%..
at sa friday 50%
nakakalokah..ang taas..at ang hirap e-maintain yun…grabe!!
by the way..the promo of darna here in cebu last saturday..was really a big hit also..
i v never seen such massive, resposive crowd..ever b4..as if the mall was going to sink secondary to overload…were like swaying bamboos in a hot oven..the fans were shouting ,screaming, (you can say it non-stop!!)like a cheering squad in a basketball game..they loved them,adore..and i guess they would die for.. just to be with thier stars..grabe tlaga ang impact sa tao..on my way home narinig ko pa yoong mga nag-iinuman malapit sa boarding house ko..they’r talking about darna…grabe tlaga..she’s so popular..yong mga lalalki..yung sabi nila..i love you daw angel, kids naman…darna1,darna!..i heard yong iba..called her pa..alwina…as in di ko tlaga ma-imagine..
tama yong sabi ni dennis..ngayon lang ako nakakakita ng ganun ka raming tao..very overwhelming tlaga!! kahit sa mga food stand, upunan..fully occupied..like a bloated ballon..still, some air try to fill-up in…occupied tlaga..kong gaano karaming tao..there are time..when i find it hard to breathe… parang nga yong ibang fans nila..mahihimatay na lang eh)..pero kahit ganun…yong situation..wla pa ring umalis..lalo pang dumami yong mga tao..of all ages ha..fromn toddlers to adults, couples..lahat talaga!1

it was really a HUGE SUCCESS!!..cguro kong movie pa yun..blockbuster na namn..i think the producers should take advantage..and im sure they make a lot of money na naman…gawan nila kaagad ng movie..tingana nyo na lang yong let the love…kahit may-iisue dun na negative kay richard d pa rin kaka-apekto kc that time mataas ang ratings ng mulawin..same now with darna..grabe tlaga!!

based on what i’ve witnessed ..she just like us..noong una naka-darna custome..resembles..fearless herione..2nd timme in her appearance..caual attire..sleeveless top color red.and maong na pants..i dnt..even though simple lang yong dating nya…she so elegant..tinganan nyo na lang sya pag-makita nyo na sya ng personal..sabagya kahit naman ano yong i-sout sa kanya bagay talaga..she knows fashion..and whatever she wears really suits her well…
