Donita’s weight issues in ‘Seed of Contention’

One thing’s for sure: she’s taking her director’s advice not to worry about her weight. Donita had ballooned after giving birth to JP in July last year. She said she had since lost weight, but insisted she was still way off her mark.

“Ana assured me that my present weight is okay at the start of filming,” she said. “But as the story progresses and my character goes through all sorts of experiences, like hunger, then I have to look slimmer.”

Donita Rose will play the older sister of French star Virginie Ledoyen in a World War II film intended for international release, according to the actress and former veejay.

The movie is tentatively titled “Seed of Contention” and will be directed by debuting filmmaker Ana Marie Laperal, a US-based Filipina.

Donita, 30, explained that the sisters in the story come from a wealthy Spanish family in Manila during the Japanese Occupation.

Ledoyen, 28, was in Francois Ozon’s “Eight Women,” with Catherine Deneuve and Emmanuel Beart. But she’s more popularly known as Leonardo DiCaprio’s love interest in “The Beach.”

In “Seed,” Japanese soldiers rape Donita’s character, Emma, who is so traumatized, she goes insane. [source]
