Google turning into a free internet service provider using WiFi and dark fiber techonology?

Several recent news reports have said that Google has been shopping for dark fiber — unused fiber-optic cable. Technology industry executives have speculated that Google may be interested in buying such lines — traditionally used by telecommunications companies — as the backbone for a national wireless Internet network. However, the company may also be using the lines to move data between its server centers as part of normal operations. [source]

Authors sue Google over Google Print

The Authors Guild and three other writers filed a class action suit on Tuesday against Google Inc. over the Google Print program. The lawsuit charges Google with massive copyright infringement. [source]
