The reigning Miss International Precious Lara Quigaman is a product of Eat Bulaga’s Teevee Babe. She was first runner up. She wants to be paired up with Dennis Trillo if ever she gets to be seen on the big screen. The Kapuso Network has the right of first refusal to handle Lara’s future movie and tv careers after her reign.

Precious Lara Quigaman is the fourth Filipino to bring home the Miss International crown. The other three are Melanie Marquez (1979), Aurora Pijuan (1970) and Gemma Cruz (1965).

Her introductory speech:

MABUHAY! representing the democratic and freedom loving people of the pearl of the orient, I am Precious Lara Quigaman, from the beautiful country of THE PHILIPPINES!

The question they asked her:

Q: “what do you say to the people of the world who have typecasted filipinos as nannies?”

A: “I take no offence on being typecasted as a nanny. But I do take offence that the educated people of the world have somehow denegrated the true sense and meaning of what a nanny is. Let me tell you what she is. She is someone who gives more than she takes. She is someone you trust to look after the very people most precious to you - your child, the elderly, yourself. She is the one who has made a living out of caring and loving other people. So to those who have typecasted us as nannies, thank you. It is a testament to the loving and caring culture of the Filipino people. and for that, I am forever proud and grateful of my roots and culture.”

Loud applause ensued.

Lara wants Dennis Trillo to be his first leading man in a movie project.

Ethel Booba, co-host of Extra Challenge, might be given her own show under the News and Public Affairs program of GMA-7. If plans continue, Ethel will be hosting a road trip themed reality show.

Her co-host is not yet known as of the moment. But surely the co-host must also have a strong audience pull as Ethel will be too busy with this additional challenge on her back.
