Julia’s movie bags Argentina film award
Julia Clarete was excited and proud when she learned that the independent film that she co-starred in, together with Yul Servo, won a foreign award. The movie was entitled “Sa Ilalim ng Cogon.”
The movie bagged the “Best International Picture” award at the recently concluded Rojo Sanggre International Film Festival in Argentina.
Because she was in Los Angeles at that time, Julia, an Eat Bulaga mainstay, was surprised when she received the text that the film won.
And she was doubly surprised when the American audience recognized her while she was in the States.
Through Pinoy TV, Eat Bulaga is among the most popular GMA 7 shows that are watched by many Filipinos and Americans alike.

Patapos na ang 8th season ng Love to Love nina Ciara Sotto, Paolo Ballesteros, Jopay Paguia and Ian Veneracion of Love-An O Bawi at Mike Tan, LJ Reyes, CJ Muere and partner of Stuck in Love. Still undefeated ito kahit 3 shows na ang itinapat for this season including its current, ang PBB Buzz na mistulang hype pa lang din. With 2 weeks to go, magsisimula na ang taping for the 9th season next week in time for its premiere end of November of first Sunday of December ba.
Kasado na ang cast ng first story. It will have our favorite girl Julia Clarete in her first series sa GMA-7 together with Encantadia heartthrob Alfred Vargas and Sugo sensation Isabel Oli. Sa first story, dapat, ito ang pinu-push na-ming Jennylyn Mercado-Hero first team-up with Katrina Halili and that StarStruck I male avenger. As of this writing, hindi na yata ito matutuloy dahil napalitan si Hero ni Jake Cuenca, ang original love triangle naman nina Jennylyn and Mark Herras since Forever in My Heart pa.

ABC-5 receives Golden Dove Best TV Station Award
The Associated Broadcasting Company (ABC-5), the station now under the stewardship of Antonio “Tonyboy” Cojuangco received the KBP Golden Dove Best Station award—the highest honor given by the association of broadcasters. The event was held last month at the Star Theater, CCP Complex.
The golden dove trophy was received by ABC-5 managing director for News and Entertainment Roberto V. Barreiro, who reiterated Tonyboy’s maxim “You don’t have to be the biggest to be the best,” in his speech. The ABC-5 executive also gave credit to the ABC-5 staff who, he acknowledges, works hard despite less resources. He went on to say that ABC-5 promises bigger and brighter things for the coming year; pleasant surprises true to the station’s brand “Iba Tayo!”
ABC-5’s other KBP awards received that night were Best TV Comedy Program for WoW Maling Mali, and Best TV Magazine Talk Show for Real Stories Kasama Si Loren. Other nominees were: Sentro (Best TV Newscast); Dokyu (Best TV Public Affairs Program); Club_TV (Best TV Variety Show), Islamusik (Best TV Culture and Arts Program); Anime Ring Kaisho (Best TV Children’s Program); Cheri Mercado-Santos (Best TV Newscaster); Jove Francisco (Best TV Field Reporter); and Buwan ng Wika (Best TV Public Service Announcement).
