The igma.tv and starstruck.tv websites maintained by GMA New Media have been experiencing downtimes this week for a total of over 36 hours already, annoying its tousands of viewers over and over. GMA7 has been silent over this fiasco. There are several possible reasons for these downtimes. The first reason is that these could be scheduled downtimes, but New Media had miserably failed to inform its visitors ahead of time. This reason is not likely the real reason, however, as the downtimes had been on again, off again in a single week, so the succeeding reasons seem more plausible, all under the category ‘unscheduled downtimes.’ An unscheduled downtime, in the case of GMA7’s websites is either caused by exceeding allocated bandwidth caused by a surge of StarStruck online voters or a denial of service attack.

How do they expect to reflect the true sentiment of their viewers if their feedback instrument is always down?
