McJelly Trio girl is Captain Barbell’s love interest
Rhian Denise Ramos of McDo’s McJelly Trio fame (and nothing else besides) will be Teng’s love interest. She can’t speak Tagalog well. It must be the face that made them choose her.
Parang mas gusto ng handlers ni Richard na di pa sikat ang ipapareha sa kanya. Para sa kanya lahat ang papuri at talent fee, malamang.

This has to be the worst remake in the history of television.. and should be literally flushed down the toilet.

sana mahabla kayo ng DC COMICS, ikinahihiya nyo ba ang gawa ng mga Ravelo at kung baguhin niyo ang kwento gagaya pa kayo sa mga banyagang gawa!!!!

Bakit ganon? small ville ata ang dating??? Sayang naman ang original story at concept nito kung igagaya lng sa iba. Tyaka kulang sa story telling ang pag ddirect. Minsan alang common sense. Para tuloy di comics ang dating. Look, Capt barbell is suppose to be a comic book character like super S and batman. Pag gumawa sila ng pelikula naayon parin sa comic book. That is why pwede din nila i-comics yung pelikula. Ito sa story telling plng di na pwedeng ilagay sa comics to. Nasira yung capt barbell dito. Pati yung concept ni MAr’s. Di tuloy nagmumukhng original. Kaya tuloy sinasabi ng mga tao na nangaya lng kayo kc halos lhat ginaya na. Revise nyo naman para di halatng halata. Nkakahiya sa mga nakakaalm ng pingagayahan , ginayahan at lalo na sa creator ng Capt barbell…

It was an outrage. They made captain barbell a
copycat of smallville, (which is already a lame u.s.
tv series)…. para bang sinabi ng mga writers
na, “okay, ano nga ba yung ginawa sa smallville…
tapos baguhin o ibahin na lang natin ng kaunti,
para di naman masabi na kinopya natin lahat…”
and they have the audacity to campaign against
piracy when they are intellectual pirates
themselves! gosh! We might as well call captain
barbell captain hook! Pirates!!!
the concept of having different persons playing the
role of teng and captain barbell is almost a unique
concept for a filipino hero. as far as i know, it could
only be compared to the mighty thor where the
human counterpart is somehow being possessed
by a god. the story would be more interesting if it
had an underdog actor to portray an insecure
outcast teng then richard as a contrastingly cocky
superhero.
(obviously, like what has been said, richard or
maybe his stage mom wants the whole credit, even
at the risk of sacrificing the artistry of poor mars
ravelo)
like in smallville, teng (aka clark kent) would save
his soon to be bestfriend and worst foe, Levi aka
lex luthor, (played by patrick garcia) in a CAR
ACCIDENT… they’re first encounter (what a
coincidence)
according to patrick, his character is initially good,
then would turn for worse, apparently because of
the influence of his billionaire dad, richard gomez,
(that lame actor with the stagnant facial
expression) a.k.a. lionel luther.. (exactly what
happened to lex).
Then, when the meteor/space craft or whatever
crashed on earth, the barbell element just like
kryptonite would have adverse effects on the future
villains that would cross captain barbell’s path…
(very original, even the super booba movie of ruffa
mae quinto already used this concept)
maybe these actors and most of the soon to be
avid viewers have not seen any episode of
smallville. But that doesn’t mean that gma7 should
getaway with it! They will not fool everyone!!

i hold the same sentiments…
if they would try to develop their own concept of a ‘new show’, maybe Capt Barbell can turn out to be a promising program.. too bad they didn’t.
PS: The leading lady looks like Anne Curtis, doesn’t she?

Teka sandali. obviously si anonymouse dito eh Studio23 viewer. never seen smallville in s23, just seen its previews. no idea na ang captain barbell is smallville wannabee. anyway, the storyline is SuperMan talaga. anyway, the show RATES well, meaning Filipinos have NOT SEEN smallville and preferred a local version of it called CAptain Barbell. Meron akong mga comments din. SUCH AS
BARBANIUM at ASKOBAR - do they have to use the “bar” from the term barbell? Sana kagaya nalang ng adamantium or carbonium sa X-MEN.
LEVI at VIEL VILLIAN - obviously it came from VILE VILLAIN or EVIL VILLAIN. Be more creative. sounds better if they used Levi Villar or Vel Villarama or something else that really sounds like Filipino name.
THE SPECIAL EFFECTS are far better than DARNA anyway. In fact I like watching it. Ok lang naman ma-base sa DC Comics kasi ALL superhero novels and stories are all similar. POINT SOMETHING NA UNIQUE sa iba and you’ll fail. copycats naman talaga yan. at lest, pinoy ang gumawa.

i dnt care kung ginaya or hindi ang captain barbell. mataas nmn ang rating nito and besides mganda nmn ang pagkakagawa, bakit di nyo n lng suportahan ang show kesa kung ano2 ang mga sinsabi nyo!!!!! at higit sa lahat mas gwApo nmn si richard gutierrez kesa sa lead role ng smallville…..

Well, dapat kase kung ano yung original na story ni Mars Ravelo yun ang dapat na gawin. Mahirap kase iniiba at ginagaya sa mga American heroes ang istorya. Nawawala na ang respeto sa writer, where as dapat na bigyan pa nang parangal. kung walang Mars Ravelo.. hindi nyo nakilala si Darna at Dyesebel. Matagal na kayong pinasasaya ng isang dakilang manunulat na hindi man lang ata nabigyan ng parangal sa mundo ng art/media/entertainment or whatever. Ang mga likha ni Mars Ravelo ay parte na ng buhay Pinoy na hindi kayang burahin sa isip ng mga Pilipino. Pinatawa niya kayo sa Jack and Jill, at pina iyak sa Wanted Perfect mother. Dapat siyang pangaralan at hindi bastusin ang istoryang kanyang ni likha at pinaghirapan.

hmmm.. i like the show to say the least.. but rhian and richard has no chemistry.. alang *kilig* factor.. we even like camille and richard to be together.. but somehow prng smallville nga,, teng liking lea then keith like clark liking lana then clowee.. nwei dis is just an opinion.. :p but really i liked the scenes of keith and teng, they looked more credible than lea and teng.. :p

richard gomez and cammile pratz looks good as a couple together, or a love team… i dont like whats her name.RHIAN. the new artist…as a love team for richard… hindi bumenta. hindi sila bagay.. i think na she’s just a slim, tall, w/ long hair girl… na nakakasawa face maybe in the television, i dont know in person, but she is pretty though,but something is lacking, i think she’ll fit doing commercials, or being a pretty model. mas bagay sakanya, or ibang ka love team.. kaya di nag click gaano ung show cause of the lack of spark, love team, thats what the viewers in philippines are after and looking forward too.face it… in my opinion, i have really no complaints, just that. i really think kit and teng would hit it off, and would make people love the show even more, im not saying it wasnt good enough… yes it is a great sitcom to watch, it was good. as a viewer,simply mas bagay talaga silang two, i mean teng and kit.. and mas baka mas nabigyan pansin pa lalo yung show kung sila, imbis na yung mga bad comment na ive read about being A.k.a. smallville, baka di pa yun na pansin kung maganda naman yung love team… just an opinion..

i agree in a way it has a replica of smallville, and Superman…. ALot… sana si herbert bautista o yung mga old pinoy movies nalang ginaya… like…hmmm… si darna and captain barbell na nag kita… o db…. mas original… or yung old filipino movie ni captain barbell… mas origal yun… but ur the director… and people who watch it are the critics… and critics would make the show even greaat…if people would accept the critization, and try to improve it.. actually nga nakakatulong pa yun.. kaya i also like originality more, isnt that ayun yung tinuro sa mga courses? originality and creativety of the mind, of one self? in my opinion, kung parehas din lang, marami ako dadagdag, para maiba… and that people would be guessing kung ano mang yayari talaga in the end…
